The principal activity of the Hygiene and Medical Ecology Department is the assessment of environmental factors that could have a direct or indirect impact on the health of individuals and the entire population.
The Department monitors pollution of the living environment, assesses the threat to the population posed by pollution and proposes measures to maintain or improve health of humans and their environment. The Department consists of two units:
- Hygiene Unit
- Environment Protection Unit
