The Sanitary Microbiology Department has the following laboratories:
- Water Microbiology Laboratory
- Food Microbiology Laboratory
- Laboratory for Microbiological Control of the Work Environment Hygiene
- Quality and expertise assurance
- Challenges and goals
Laboratory analyses are mostly performed made on the basis of statutory requirements in force or with the purpose to determine the compliance of samples with these requirements.
All three laboratories work closely together in terms of their professional activities and co-operate with other departments of the Institute of Public Health Koper. The aim which they pursue is to achieve the highest level of expertise and quality possible.
